so you may not actually have a problem there but im not sure. i read a post awhile back..actually it was a auto faq about aiv removal and the pass side vacuum galley and all that...it was originally hooked up to the intake side of the turbo...making it never see boost...so if your checking for a boost leak and getting one...you may not nessecariliy get one from a vacuum leak...anythings possible, but if you were losing boost out that egr leak, i doubt it would be sufficient enough to change the a/f so much as to extremely bog down the motor liek your describing...not sure though. im still bettin on the maf for now haha but anythings possible. also...is your egr working properly? i just thought of this...if the egr isnt working properly (you mentioned the leak by the egr) and not opening enough and not recirculating exhaust gas (causing unburnt fuel smell), that could also be raising combustion chamber temps (hot exhaust), higher combust temps = det = retard timing = less power, however a boost leak could cause a richer condition, fending off detonation...im just throwing a million ideas together of whatever i can think of...maybe you have more than one problem...keep us updated and gl
